June 30, 2010June 30, 2010This was just an experimentation.  Will have to try it a little more formally sometime.  Not necessarily a new idea but kind of fun with lots of potential.  And I can just hear your puns coming so enough of your Eggasperating Yolks about Eggs.  I just can’t Face them all.  Hmmmmm…hurts, dozen it!

The seems to be an impostor amongst the midst. I can’t be sure but there seems like there is one that is not quite right.

June 26, 2010 – Art Supplies

Posted in Snapshot365 with tags , , , , , on June 26, 2010 by AZSalsman

June 26, 2010Mid-day is a hard time to really take outside pictures.  Too much light, to much contrast resulting in blown out highlights and dark ungly shadows.  But today, I took this picture to mark that I just spent over $400 in art supplies that will be sent half way around the world!  I still have more to get

June 24, 2010 – Bougainvillea Behemoth

June 24, 2010I noticed the size of the bougainvillea….three tall stories high!  It is the tallest one that I have ever seen.  Taking pictures int he bright Arizona sin in the afternoon is hard…the light washes the color out.

June 23, 2010 – Happy Birthday, Dad!

June 23, 2010

Today is my father’s birthday (Happy Birthday, Dad!).  Instead of representing his birthday simply with birthday candles and cake, it seemed more fitting to celebrate the occasion by shooting (no pun intended) a picture of this tank…not so much as to represent his military career but because this tank which still sits on my shelf in our office, was one of several gifts he brought back to me from his 6 month tour of duty in Cyprus.  I was about 10 years or so at the time ( can’t remember…I was too excited). The mechanism to shoot the two ammo is long past its life and the ammo long forgot, but the memory is still in tact.

June 22, 2010Today’s installment of this “photo-a-day” blog is an abstract picture of our TV.  I took in honor of news we received today that we have won a new 32″ flat screen TV. We just need to go pick it up this week.   It is a real blessing.  The timing could not be overlooked, confirming an act of God.

Peanut Butter, Green Beans and an Anniversary

Posted in Snapshot365 with tags , , , , , , , , , on June 21, 2010 by AZSalsman

June 21, 2010

Okay, it is my wife’s and my anniversary today and I hear you ask: “What do peanut butter and green beans have to do with our anniversary?”

Okay…I will tell  you.

I have been teaching 4th and 5th graders Computer Graphics and Animation at Arizona State University during the afternoons for three weeks.  Friday, I asked the students what I should get my wife for our anniversary (mostly, I was just creating bonding time with the class.

One of the boys in the back yelled out “Peanut Butter”. Surprised by the option, I asked why?  “Because it is AWESOME!!!!!”..

Right after that, another quiet boys in the front squeaked out “Green Beans…I like green beans”.

This year, I shop for an anniversary gift in a grocery store.  maybe I will pick up some ice cream for dessert while I am there.
