July 6, 2010 – Bungee

July 6, 2010I don’t get much opportunity to photograph pets – mainly because I don’t have one.  However, we do have a house guest for a few days while his family – Brooke’s family, that is – are on vacation.  Bungee adores Carol – follows her everywhere.  But as for me….he tolerates me.  While go outside for Carol but if I guide him out, he runs to get  Carol so SHE can take him out.  that is a dog’s life, I guess…Bungee’s too.

Oh yeah…you wonder where the dog got its name? He used to have a companion of the same make and model.  His name was Jumper.  So, if you think about it, the two of them make a Bungee-Jumper.

January 30, 2010This may not have been my BEST shot taken during my morning hike at the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy but I did feel it was the most comical.  It is a simple, lowly cactus of some species but THIS one, I am sure, was created by Jim Henson. It was literally watching me either with the attempt of being the little tiny monster with big dreams of protecting the desert or the forgotten little plant-animal that needs someone to love him like that tale of the frog and the princess.

My wife says it reminds her of an animal with human qualities …. and it isn’t even an animal.
