June 4 – Taking Off!

June 4, 2010

For my daily photo today, I ran (not literally) to the airport.  I guess having booking my flight to Africa today, gave me the urge to head here today.

I was a little late as the daylight was waning.  This gave only a few opportunities (in this case ONE opportunity) to catch an airline in motion.  I will have to try this again.   All I can say is that as I watched this plane take off through the lens of the camera, I was stunned at how slow it actually appeared to go.  It was VERY deceiving.  But now it is gone and likely well passed it’s initial destination.

Sitting, waiting for the meal to be served I saw the warm glow of the candle light.  With the table acting as a tripod, I let the camera do it’s thing.  I could not really view through the finder to compose the shot – I had to rely on my “best guess” both for exposure settings and composition.

But when is the food going to come…I wanna eat!
