August 8, 2010 – Self-Portrait

August 8, 2010Yesterday’s post was a water theme.  I would say this one is too but, instead it is a picture of myself.  It is amazing where I find myself these days. Unfortunately, someone stamped “Elkay” right across my picture but my picture seems to be there every time I look so I must be someone of importance.  Anyway, the key thing is to always be creative and observant.  Find  something new or a new way of  seeing something old you found.

You are right….it will be HARD to choose which photo to use for my day endeavor of this photo blog. Had several from some artistic shots that turned out well of some birds and local housing to a group of 5 to 13 years olds working on a banner to come back with me to “America”. I chose this one, however. This is a class of some of the older kids working on self-portraits.

April 3, 2010 – Self Portrait

April 3, 2010Is it possible to truly reflect upon one’s self? For in one’s reflected image, one sees only the light of one’s outer presence – never the true subject.  The soul is still buried inside; yet it is the soul that brings forth life.

When I see my reflection, the “real me” seems so far away.  Perhaps, though, that is because I eternally live so close to my very being that to see myself, even a few feet away, is a strange and empty loneliness.
