For some reason, I like old books. I like the look, the feel, the smell. Like this book of Psalms and Hymns which is signed “William Nickerson, 1867”. Perhaps it is because the tattered covers, the dog-eared pages, the failing binding all tells a story. There is only one way to obtain that which is weathered and aged as such….time. I guess, too, that is why I find weather beaten wood, or rusted farm equipment so intriguing. I want to ask each one “what was life like when you were a child?”. Not everything that is good is new.
